I grew up in the sport of gymnastics and competed competitively for 15 years. Throughout the sport and my childhood, I learned the lessons of discipline, patience in recovering from injuries, and experienced the impact of putting in hard work. Through a gymnastics injury I was introduce to CrossFit and used the methodology to help me become a more well rounded athlete. When I left the sport of Gymnastics, I ventured into training as an endurance athlete in marathons and triathlons, as well as continuing my CrossFit journey. I have always enjoyed using CrossFit to further develop skills as an athlete and to assist in whatever goals I am chasing (anywhere from recovering from an injury to using the sport as cross-training to focusing on fun competitions within the sport).
I absolutely love being a part of a community! Growing up in individualized sports, I had no idea what I was missing out on until I walked into a CrossFit gym. I remember being 16 years old and imagining how cool it would one day be to instruct a class (granted I always thought I was too quiet). Throughout my background in sports, I have learned to empathize with athletes and walk alongside them in their fitness journey. One of my favorite things about coaching is watching athletes start to believe themselves and see their confidence grow as they begin mastering new skills and attacking workouts with intensity!
